A native Vermonter who grew up around farms and apples, he has been making beer and cider since 1994. He has completed the Cider and Perry Academy cider making course, a United Kingdom-based cider making school conducted in tandem with the Agriculture Business Center at Washington State University.
His love of all things fermented helped him attain the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) Master Judge level. Brian has served three times as President of the Carolina BrewMasters, a local homebrew club, and served on its Board of Directors from 2007 to 2014.
Brian likes making spur of the moment decisions and the “Fire, Ready, Aim” approach to things which sometimes has those around him scrambling for the next steps and probably throwing a few choice words his way as well.
When he’s not in the cidery he enjoys hanging out with his family and friends and drinking a tasty, dry cider; or depending on how the day has gone at the cidery a big IPA or stout! Sláinte
